Unlike anything I’ve been around. It is the community.

We impact the community in multiple ways: Charitable, Economic, Tourism, and supporting Windsor Castle Park.

Since April 2012, and thru the 2022/23 Season, SVAEvents has donated almost $1.6 million dollars back into our community from the proceeds from our festivals.

We have had over $7 million dollars' worth of economic impact. We are funding Phase III ($350,000) of the Manor House & Grounds Restoration Project. We have donated over $150,000 to the Town of Smithfield Park Fund, plus over $75,000 to the Windsor Castle Park Foundation to assist with park projects like the kayak shed, the natural children's playgrounds and park way-finding signage.

Oh, and we are 100% self-funded as well. No tax-payer dollars are spent, or fees waived for our organization.

We are proud of the impact we have on our community, and plan on being around a long time.   Our reputation for putting on well-planned, first-class boutique events at Windsor Castle Park has made our tickets some of the hottest to get in Coastal Virginia!

The Charitable Impact

Each season, we donate over $200,000 from proceeds from the festivals.

Since April 2012, and thru the 2022/23 Season, SVAEvents has donated almost $1.6 million dollars back into our community from the proceeds from our festivals. Donations are made to benefiting organizations with grants, groups who volunteer and to charities and causes that our individual volunteers select.

This is how we give it back to the community:

  • Grants - We have an application process, and the board selects Benefiting Organizations that receive either $5K or $10K grants.

  • Volunteer Groups - Work our festivals and receive donations based on hours worked.

  • Individual Donations - besides groups, we also have individual volunteers. Our Board Members, SuperStar, and Individual Volunteers select their favorite non-profits and charities, and we make donations to them on their behalf.

  • Donation of our "products" (tix, tables, chalets) to other local organizations to use at their auction or raffle events to raise funds for their causes/missions.

  • Other "Special Donations" including, the Town's Windsor Castle Park Fund, Police Department's CHIP Program and our local Volunteer Fire & Rescue Associations. Upon occasion we make special donations to support various other community needs by request.

The Economic Impact:

Annually our festivals generate about $1,000,000 in economic impact.

Smithfield VA Events contributes to the economic vitality of the community to the tune of about $1,000,000 dollars annually. We use local businesses for event supplies and vendors whenever possible. Many of our attendees book hotel rooms and spend their money at local restaurants & shoppes over the weekend. Annually, our festivals generate about (450) hotel nights. The Town benefits from all those meals and lodging taxes.  So, besides our amazing charitable impact, those economic impact dollars benefit our local businesses and community as well.

The Tourism Impact

Attendees come for a fest but discover Smithfield & Isle of Wight.

Between 60-65% of our attendees are non-local, and about 8-10% come from out-of-state. Some out-of-town guests stay in local hotels or with friends who live here for fest weekends. For many, coming to a festival is their first visit to Smithfield, but they return other times of year to spend the weekend, have their wedding here or come to other special events held in the town and county.

The Windsor Castle Park Impact

We help support our beautiful venue.

We are lucky to have such a beautiful site to hold our festivals. Windsor Castle Park is truly a special place, and we are proud to donate funds to help take care of it. We are funding ($350,000) of Phase III of the Manor House & Grounds Restoration Project which include the restoration of the inside of the old caretaker's house and rebuilding two barns that historically existed on the site.  We have donated over $150,000 to the Town of Smithfield Park Fund, plus over $75,000 to the Windsor Castle Park Foundation to assist with park projects like the kayak shed, the natural children's playgrounds and park way-finding signage. We have contributed over $15,000 to improve site conditions and assisted in funding a cart-path thru the historic grounds.
